A Nutcase's Daily Schedule

You know, I usually have some witty way of starting a blog post. For some reason, today my brain is decided to take an early weekend vacation- even if it is only Thursday. I'm hoping that by the end of the weekend I'll be caught up on lost sleep and feeling back to normal. I can't say for sure if that'll happen, but it is nice to dream, right?

I've started to realize that every part of my day is laden with routines. It starts when I get ready for bed and continues when I wake up. So even though it's probably a boring schedule, that's okay. Let's begin, shall we?

  • 1:00am-4:00am: I get offline and do my bedtime routine. I get some tea, fix my covers/pillows just the way I like them, and watch a little bit of T.V. until the sleep medicine kicks in. This is also the time when I usually enjoy the cuddles from our furry, four-legged destroyers.
  • 4:00am-11:59am: During these hours, I have weird or happy dreams. I've had dreams about... Yeah, let's not go there. Some of them are locked in my "Happy Dreams Vault." Let's just leave it at that.
  • 12:00pm-12:35pm: Wake up time! Sometimes, if I've had a particularly rough night of tossing and turning, my body and brain lets me sleep until 1. This, though, is not happening very rarely. Cue anxiety worries.
  • 12:45pm-1:00pm: Lunch! It depends on what I'm hungry for, but 99% of the time, I have a bowl of cereal. That's right, cereal.
  • 1:45pm-5:00pm: Get online and work. Okay, sometimes I take a break and play a game or two online. However, it always starts with checking e-mails, FedEx, UPS, and Facebook. It never deviates from that.
  • 5:00pm-6:00pm: DINNER!!!! (This is pretty self explanatory, right?)
  • 6:30pm-10:30pm: During this time I read, journal, or play a nice game of Sudoku. Nothing exciting about that. Moving on.
  • 10:30pm-1:00am: More work. Every one else is usually asleep during this time, so it's usually quiet and I can be left with those nagging anxieties.
Somewhere in between being awake and going to sleep, there's also showers and laundry. Those are pretty standard things, so why include them?

Welcome to my day-to-day life. Everything I do revolves around a routine, and every single second is filled with anxiety. If something causes me to do something differently from that, I feel chaotic inside. It may be quite boring, but it keeps me sane.... somewhat. I usually keep tabs on the time so I know exactly what to do next. I'm not sure that's normal, but it feels normal to me.

I have to ask, does anyone else have a routine that may seem odd to someone else? I'm very curious.

Weird Wednesday: Yodamin Franklin

I was looking for geeky gifts to add to wishlists for birthdays and the Holidays when I came upon a  list of just weird gifts you can give to your nerdy friends. Most of the stuff was down right wrong, but then I came across something that was really weird. No, when I say weird, I mean weird.

We all know Yoda as the wise Jedi on Star Wars. But when you add Benjamin Franklin, you add another level of wise.

Yodamin Franklin 8x10- yours for only $15.99. Want bigger sizes? Pay up to $50.

How would Yoda say, "A penny saved is a penny earned"? A penny earned, a penny saved is.

I don't think I'll be adding this one to any wishlists. It's hard to find a friend that loves Benjamin Franklin and Star Wars.

Geektastic Tuesday: Star Trekkies!

We thought it was time resurrect Geektastic Tuesday and bring you some of our favorite finds for some of our geeky toys and must haves!

We don't say it often, but we like Star Trek. We were kind of raised on the old movies, thanks to our parents. Little did we know that our parents (who were apparently geeks back then) would raise little geeklings themselves!

Your dog can how sit in the captain's chair. Just don't let it go to their head. Or just let the Tribbles have it.

"Please, Captain, not in front of the Klingons." (By the way, it's a Star Trek door chime.)

You won't end up in the sick bay with this Spock oven mitt!

And no Star Trek list would be complete without the PERFECT pet: Tribbles!
"Spock, I don't know too much about these little tribbles yet, but there is one thing that I have discovered."

A Random High School Memory

It's only Tuesday and I've only had 3 panic attacks since Monday. It's okay, though. I had someone right by my side to help me through them. I'm extremely lucky to have such a strong support group.

*Ahem* Yeah.... let's move on.

A few nights ago, I was watching The Golden girls (please tell me you're not shocked), and the episode "Till Death Do We Volley," where Trudy, Dorothy's high school, prank playing friend comes to visit. During the conversation of when she first arrives, someone mentions that they both ran for their senior(?) treasury. This really brought up a weird and yet random memory from my moment in the race for treasury.

Now bear with me, some of the details have been erased and replaced with others.

It was either in the 9/10/11/12th grade. I must have been a junior because I was in English class, first period. (Yes, I know that doesn't make sense to you. Sorry.) It was during the morning announcements, I believe, when they were saying the names of the class nominees for treasury, president, what have you. Shockingly enough, my name was called for treasury. Inside my brain, I was dumbfounded. I was largely unpopular because of my shyness. I had only 3 close friends, so who the hell voted for me to be a nominee?

When I got home from school, I told my mom and dad everything- and they were pretty excited about it, as was Angela. A few days later, we bought some poster board, makers, and I'm sure there was some kind of puffy paint included. Puffy paint worked better on some of the darker ones. Angela helped me out in writing some of them, which I'm thankful for because I was too shaky to make any straight lines. Of course, rulers were helpful.

The next day when we went to school, we put them up with some help from some of the taller students.... Thank you, taller students.

While other nominees (for different positions) were handing out candy to help them win, I was too shy to even try my hand at running a campaign. I let my badly-made poster boards speak for themselves. I was damn proud of those things, too.

Fast forward to the time to vote.

As I was looking at the voting ballot, I saw my name under "Treasurer." Several thoughts popped into my head, "Do I vote for myself? Would I be able to succeed? What happens if I mess up?" So, I did the right thing: Voted for the other person. Perhaps I would get karma points for that.

Okay, another fast forward to morning announcements on the voting tally. To make a long story short, I didn't win. I was happy and sad at the same time. One part of me wanted to win, and the more dominant part wanted me to lose simply because that meant I had to be less shy and more outspoken. If you knew me at all during high school, I was not outspoken in the slightest.

So, that ended my run for "political offices" for life.

(I had more details come up more than I thought. Brains are weirdly fascinating.)

#DoctorWho Party Ideas!

Okay, so the Twin and I are now officially hooked on Doctor Who. We watched the Boom Town episode last night, and laughed our rear ends off. Since we turn 30 in December, how geeky would it be to have a 30th Doctor Who party? So I went searching of ideas, and I think we may have to start saving NOW... Too many great ideas!

Oh my god, I want! Un/forutunately, there is a printable available at Etsy for only $6.75.

I am in love with this Tardis invitation!
I wonder if I could get them to put our actual coordinates on there.

I think the party will be super delicious! Recipe is at the bottom.

Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of awesome decoration ideas, though I could think of a million different ideas. But I did come across this cool-looking door that I might have to do for the party. Though I won't be painting it. Our landlord wouldn't like it.
It's bigger on the inside.

Would you have a Doctor Who party?

Songs I'm Diggin'

Due to insomnia running wild every night, I've had 5am fall-asleep times. While it's frustrating and causes me to become a zombie throughout the day, I'm hopeful in nipping it in the bud before I start staying awake for days. I'm no where near ready for that. Heh.

So, because I'm feeling lazy, here are a few songs I've been loving this week.
The Cog is Dead
"Danger on the Dance Floor"
It makes me want to Tango. Unfortunately, I have two left feet.

Ghostfire
"The Last Steampunk Waltz"
I'm not sure what it is for me this week... There seems to be a pattern.

Hugh Laurie
"Kiss Of Fire"
This is full of just awesomeness!

So there you go, the top 3 songs on my iPod this week. I'm sure there are more, but those are only for my "AAAH! I JUST CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!" moments. It happens.

The Walking Dead: What Is Going on at Terminus?!

I was doing a survey today about The Walking Dead (squee!) when I decided to get some more information on Terminus. On The Walking Dead's wikia page, it said that there was a deleted scene from the season 4 finale where walkers are chained up and there are *yuck* remains on the floor. Wait! What?! So I decided to do a little digging and I came across a picture where it shows Rick and Michone in a room with the remains and walkers in Terminus. Ready to have your mind blown?

(Photo Credit) In all honesty, this should have been part of the episode!
I read the comments on the page where I found the picture and everyone comes to the same conclusion: Terminus is using walkers for consumption. If you remember, you can hear the word "help" being called when Rick and the gang arrive at Terminus, but it isn't coming from the area where Glenn and the others are being held. It is coming from other containers. So either Terminus is feeding the people to the zombies, thus keeping them alive for consumption, OR Terminus is feeding the zombies to its residents, turning them, thus keeping "food" available.

Another thing is the shrine with the candles and notes to loved ones, but could the captive zombies also hold another bit part? Could Terminus be feeding passersby to the walkers, keeping them animated?

We won't know until either A) more information is leaked out as we get closed to Season 5 or B) we wait until Season 5.

Oh, and you might want to check out the Movie Pilot page. A lot of people have some great theories! And if anyone comes across the actual deleted scene video footage, post the link in comment. I wanna see it!

Will the Star Wars Episode 7 Cast Work?

(Photo Credit) Star Wars Cast Meeting
Back in April, the world received the exciting news that the cast for Star Wars: Episode VII had been chosen. Since I was raised on Star Wars, thank to my Dad, I know I was excited to see who they had chosen!

Well, I can honestly say that it will be interesting to say the least. A lot of the original cast will be part of it: Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Chewbacca Peter Mayhew (all 7'2" of him!), Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Kenny Baker. Before I move onto the newest members, I am a little curious on how Mark Hamill will be introduced as well as Kenny Baker. Let's face it- Hamill no longer has that baby-face look we fell in love with. And at 79, I wonder if Kenny Baker's parts will be short.

Okay, onto the newest inductees into the Star Wars branch. First we have John Boyega, who I have to be honest I have never heard of. He supposedly was in Attack of the Block, but I never saw it. Then you also have Daisy Ridley (relatively unknown), Adam Driver (Lincoln- great movie), Oscar Issac (The Bourne Legacy), Anthony Serkis (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1), and Mark von Sydow (The Exorcist).

The most nerve-wrecking part of all this? NO ONE seems to know what the newbies' roles will be! The veterans will still retain their original roles as Han Solo, Chewie, C3PO, etc. But because the movie isn't set to hit theaters until late next year, Star Wars fans are left biting their nails. So unless more news leaks out between now and the premiere, we are stuck wondering the what, where, and when. And maybe the why.

Anyone have any ideas on what the roles will be?

Welcome Angela To The Geeky Nutcase!

Update on our situation: We are in talks with our landlord to allow us to stay. We still need your help. Remember, every $5, $10, or $15 will help. I want to thank everyone for your prayers and thoughts. To help, please visit our GoFundMe link.

Let's move onto happier thoughts.

You've seen me talk about my twin sister. Well, I'd like to officially welcome her to The Geeky Nutcase! She's decided to close up her own blog, and when I asked her if she'd like to join me in the World of Geek, she did! While she's relatively new to our world, I think she'll fit right in. She's awesome like that.

When things are less chaotic, normal posting will resume and so will she! (Oh wait, let me rephrase that.)
When things are less chaotic, normal posting will resume and she will start her journey to join us on The Force. Yes, I did make a Star Wars reference. You saw that coming.

So, let's welcome Angela to the Geeky Nutcase family!
